Five sumptuous apartments, each occupying an entire floor, form the development. We wanted to reinvent the model of the Victorian Townhouse conversion, to combat so many shoddy subdivisions in the old days of multiple occupancy and poorly considered office refits.
In the Park Circus area, one of the finest examples of Victorian residential set piece grand design, renowned Architect Charles Wilson conceived the Terrace and Circus as a splendid crown to Woodlands Hill, displaying an exuberance and confidence rarely seen. Originally designed as a series of smart townhouses, the area has re-emerged as one of the city’s most fashionable addresses for the discerning urbanite. The five smart apartments were made with a conscious minimal contemporary aesthetic that compliment period scale and features. We wanted to get an attention to detail and materials using the interior of a boutique hotel as a style reference. Tall room volumes gave us an opportunity for mezzanine gallery insertions and playing with grand space and intimate zones. We sourced solid smoked French oak plank flooring and reintroduced contemporary slot wall open flame fires in original period rooms – choosing to invest in a sense of quality that underscores the Park Area and befits our own company ethos. |
