Our first NOAH project, completed way back when, with help from the Scottish Development Agency and Historic Scotland to rescue, restore and transform Garnethill’s oldest surviving Georgian Townhouse. We had to entirely rebuild a shaky gable end and opted for a neo arts and crafts touch incorporating a lead lined full height bay window formation with a nod to Mackintosh’s masterpiece Glasgow School of Art on the same street.
In retrospect, a small project but one in which we learned the important groundwork that would become familiar territory in future developments – building our skillbase in working with heritage properties and developing dialogues with enabling public bodies. |
